About Me
- Name: Matron
- Location: Hillingdon, London, United Kingdom
I was born 20 yards from our allotment. My parents used to 'dig for victory' and never got out of the habit. I grew up on an allotment, so growing veggies is a way of life. I am also qualified as a dog behaviourist and I have set up my own business, www.blackdogdna.com

A great series of pictures and a delicious salad! Our tomatoes are taking a week to ripen too now that it's the end of August - the sun isn't so strong.
Haha...nice sequence of pictures! The tomatoes look delicious.
Slurp. What variety?
New variety this year from Thompson & Morgan called Country taste.
Mouth watering!
Great pics. Hope it tasted as good as it looked
I love the idea of watching the tomato ripen each day! I may try to do a similar post on my blog this week if I can remember to take a picture ever day. I'll credit you for the idea.
Great post! We're stuck somewhere about Wednesday!
What would gardeners do without tomatoes, life just won't be worth living! Those are some nice red tomatoes. I have taken some heat this year from the powers to be because I did not grow an actual red tomato this year. I guess I will have to put one on the list next year.
Your Banana has done really well this season. Mine have done pretty well too, the new red leaved one is just starting to take off now. I am hoping next year it grows as large as yours. I'll post some pictures of my banana's on my next blog post for you to check out.
My pictures wouldn't be quite so nice. Green on Sunday, and then blight ridden brown on Saturday!
I've had to throw away so many this year, I think I may have to give up with the notion that the UK climate can allow outside tomatoes? I think not.
Riviting stuff! ;-)
How interesting! It's great that you were able to take a picture of the tomato each day. It looks great and the salad looks delicious!
Beautiful tomato - I have some at the Monday stage and they've been there for at least a fortnight!
What can I say, beautiful series. (P.S. I've not been to your blog in a while but I love it. You've been added to my frequently checked list. Thanks for the great posts).
