What do I blog about in Winter?
It's not hard in the Summer to find things to blog about.But what to blog about in Winter when nothing is happening. My favourite trug? One hundred and one things to do with a wheelbarrow? a watering can? Does anyone have any ideas?
So little time and so much to blog about in summer and so much time and nothing to say in winter... this is true! ... and there are very few garden blogs to read in winter.
This isn't a rhetorical question to which an answer isn't desired, is it?
What are other bloggers writing about? Houseplants? Holiday decors? Wildlife? Nearby botanical sites with a greenhouse? The neighborhood. Evergreens. Past failures, future hopes. Favorite tools. How-tos. Lists, I love lists.
Matron, The garden still had nature in it. You could put in a bird feeder perhaps and talk about it. We plant snow peas the end of January here, they can take the cold and they also beat the summer heat.
I have been facing the same challenge. I have been doing a blog series discussing techniques for optimizing production out of the garden. Kicked it off right after Thanksgiving and it will wrap up just after Christmas. Been posting those mid week and then doing a weekend blog update on what is happening in the garden (winter harvests, winter freezes, greenhouse containers, etc.). I am planning to tackle a garden related shop project in about a week as well, and expect that will be good fodder for the blog as well. Then before I know it, I will be in seed starting mode once again.
I can usually find some rubbish to waffle about. Doesn't have to be good, remember: any old crap will do. Just keep us stringing along until the season starts again...
I just continue to waffle on regardless og the season. Write a liitle more about yourself maybe?? Memories of the year, memories of childhood winters...I think this is a time of reflection and hopes for the next year. Whatever you write we'll still visit!

I think that I am going to have to apologize to my garden for not winterizing it enough. That should take a few blog posts....

Yes it is more of a challenge but you could use your blog to plan for the spring, what you are going to plant, etc

Or how garlic and onions love the cold or recipes for liquid fertilizer etc.
