Some Sad News
I'm afraid I lost my lovely Buddy this afternoon.
He went to sleep peacefully on his bed at home. The time was right and I am at peace with that. I have nothing but happy memories. I felt it was right to bring Matron out from behind the keyboard just this once to share my favourite photo. Buddy had just won the James Bond K9 007 fancy dress competition at the RSPCA fundog show at Pinewood Studios. Our proudest moment. Thank you all for your kind wishes.

I am so saddened to read your news Matron. I know from experience how much of a loss it is when a devoted companion leaves us. Nice that you have happy memories.

So,so sorry to hear this. It's never an easy time when you lose someone and to lose a beloved doggie companion is just as hard. I still miss all of my old doggie friends that have sadly departed - all the way from childhood up to having my own dogs as an adult but I like to think of them all running about together up there in Doggy Heaven having a whale of a time! As many bones and balls as they could every wish for up there!!

So sorry to hear that! From what I've seen of Buddy on your blog he had a great life and you made him very happy and comfortable towards the end.

Well, just reading this news brought tears to my eyes. He was an old and beautiful soul and I know you will miss him immensely.
What a great lifetime he shared with you and died as gracefully as he lived. Well done Buddy.
So sorry to hear of Buddy's departure, chin up Matron. You gave him a great life. I know how it feels as I have had a few dogs throughout the years, which have in time gone to doggy heaven.

Like many others it seems I've been a "lurker", merrily reading and enjoying your blog for ages now. Not been up to date for a while and catching up today and reading your post about Buddy made me cry. A bit past the event now, but I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.
So sorry Matron we loved reading about Buddy.
We too are sad because our older golden retriever Tara died in January she would have been 15 soon.
Tara and Niki always had their photo on your Doggy Day Blog.
We and Niki still miss her.
