Down on the Allotment

Matron grows vegetables and fruit in a Hampshire garden. I've been growing veggies since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Some traditional varieties and old favourites as well as new ideas. I share my garden with my allotment assistant Daisy the Labrador. On Twitter as @MatronsVeggies

Some Happy News!

This is Leo! Need I say more? Leo came home today. 11 year old Labrador that someone else didn't want - can you imagine that? I'm sure you will be hearing more from him as he settles into his new home. What a lucky boy!

I'm so pleased you stepped right back in and gave another dog a loving home (Buddy would be proud too).

I'm thrilled to bits for both you and Leo. He's a smasher, I can tell he'll fit right in. How could someone not want such a gorgeous dog?, beats me.

What an absolute darling - he looks extremely sprightly for 11 years old. I confess this is exactly what I wanted to do some months back but Management didn't want to take on another "2nd hand dog" - I wish I had stuck to my guns but it was not the right time for him. Perhaps in another year or too she says wistfully - in the meanwhile I shall enjoy watching Leo settle in and take over your life and heart!

Leo looks a great dog - has that look of mischief that makes for such fun. Lovely to see a lab that's not overweight. Enjoy!
