Down on the Allotment

Matron grows vegetables and fruit in a Hampshire garden. I've been growing veggies since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Some traditional varieties and old favourites as well as new ideas. I share my garden with my allotment assistant Daisy the Labrador. On Twitter as @MatronsVeggies

Would You Wear These?

Birthday celebrations in the Matron household this weekend. But would you wear these? How about this brilliant invention The Egg Skelter. An ingenious contraption to store your home produced eggs in the order in which they were laid. No more do you have to write the day on each egg as they are laid. Great fun too!

Not sure if I could wear the wellies - maybe if you cover them with plenty of mud..?
Do you know where the egg skelter is from? I would love to get one for my parents.

Those veggie wellies might scare small children - so I probably would not wear them. They would make a fabulous piece of garden art though!

Love the wellies!

Just thought I would say I've been lurking on your blog for a while and have now started an allotment blog of my own. You can find it here - http://allotmentdad.wordpress.com/

Hope you stop by!

Happy Birthday - love the wellies, they're even wilder than mine! If you don't like them you could always plant things in them!

Is it wrong that I'm considering getting chickens just to justify the purchase of an egg skelter?

Quite frankly i love both of your gifts, wouldn't mind them myself! Yip, the wellies will take a bit of attitude to get away with but they make me smile.
Happy Belated Birthday.

I hope your b-day was spectacular Matron! Those are the wildest wellies I've ever seen. I'd definitely wear them--or put up a tomato plant in them! That egg thingy is also very cool.
