Sad News
Some sad news. I lost my lovely Leo yesterday. A perfect gardening companion.
He was already 11 years old when we rehomed him from Battersea rescue. He had arthritis in his elbows but he had already stolen the hearts of the staff at Battersea. I was lucky to get him.
His legs were quite stiff and his mobility was not good, but 16 years old is a phenomenal age for a Labrador! Yesterday morning it was apparent he had a stroke ovenight and was unable to get up. He went to sleep peacefully after having scoffed a big handful of meaty treats at the vet surgery! Happy Boy!
RIP Sweet Boy. Leo Morris January 2000 - March 2016

Oh, I'm sorry for your loss. :( I'm dreading the day it happens to my old girl.
I enjoyed hearing about his little garden adventures, And it was obvious that he enjoyed his time with you.
So sorry to read about the loss of your lovely companion. It is a problem when we take on older dogs. We only have a few years to enjoy their companionship but at least we have happy memories and the knowledge that they had a loving home for their twilight years.
Sorry to hear that. I love having my Lab for company in the garden and I know I'd miss her dearly if she weren't there. Her's to all the happy memories you'll have of Leo :)
I'm so sorry Matron.
so sad to hear that. i love your posts with leo on them. he had a great life with you.

Oh Sarah! What a sad day for you. You gave Leo such a wonderful home in his last 5 years. Sending hugs xx
great big hugs, like I said earlier in the week - I haven't got the words xx
ah so sorry, he was my favorite part of the blog...
16 years. ...... a great testament to your great care of his needs.
Sorry for your loss.
Sarah, I am so sad to read this, having to say goodbye to a four-pawed member of the family is always heartbreaking.
You don't need to tell me how you gave him the most wonderful life.
sorry, I've just re-read my comment - what I was trying to say was that you don't need me saying what a fabulous life you gave The Boy - as it is patently obvious that you gave Leo the most wonderful five years. I fondly remember one of your early posts about him 'helping' you in the garden as he practised his Special Skills in the eating bamboo canes department!
