Down on the Allotment

Matron grows vegetables and fruit in a Hampshire garden. I've been growing veggies since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Some traditional varieties and old favourites as well as new ideas. I share my garden with my allotment assistant Daisy the Labrador. On Twitter as @MatronsVeggies

Join in with Matron's Christmas Veggie Blog

So now is your chance to show us what you've got! Send me a photo of something edible that you have grown on your plot that will be ready to eat on Christmas Day. Whether you have grown your full Christmas dinner, or whether you have some mushrooms in your airing cupboard or even some alfalfa sprouts in a jar on your windowsill - don't be shy! Share with us what you have grown and email me a picture, email address is on my profile page. I will be posting this special blog on Sunday 20th December so you have a couple of weeks to go take a picture.

Okay, I'm in for this - photo to come next week: probably spuds, chillies, mooli and raddichio de Treviso.

My offering should be on its way - I'll forget if I wait - just took a photo of what we picked yesterday complete with dirt and tatty leaves so it won't win a pretty prize!

Went out to the plot especially today to take a pic of my sprouts in situ so to speak.
I have just uploaded the pics onto the computer and the enlarged pic shows some definite nibbling from something which also seems to have them earmarked for their donner!
I will have to pay another visit and pick the lot and freeze them for safety!
